Rev. Dr. Alan T. “Blues” Baker delivered the above keynote at the Religious Freedom & Business Foundation’s 2022 National Faith@Work ERG Conference “Dare to Overcome” held in partnership with the Busch School of Business at The Catholic University of America.

Rev. Dr. Alan T. “Blues” Baker serves as CEO of ChaplainCare. ChaplainCare brings a ministry of presence to the corporate and manufacturing workspace by caring for others and being in-the-moment with people—the ultimate connection.

ChaplainCare catalyzes organizations to reach their highest level by establishing an intersection of faith, leadership, and learning throughout their workforce.

Alan T. Baker has over 34 years of direct chaplaincy experience. He now trains, supervises, and endorses prospective and current chaplains in a variety of settings. Baker’s experience includes service in college, corporate, and military chaplaincy. A graduate of the United States Naval Academy, Baker rose to the rank of rear admiral. He currently teaches at Fuller, Gordon-Conwell, and Wesley seminaries. Alan is passionate about workforce chaplaincy and sees it as the most exciting and fastest-growing segment of specialized soul care.

Dr. Baker authored the seminal textbook, Foundations of Chaplaincy: A Practical Guide, published by Wm. B. Eerdmans in February 2021.
